THE CAMPAIGNERS

I came across the Accessible Hotel Campaign, which opened my eyes even more to the desperate need for more accessible hotels, not only in the UK, but around the world.

The site is extremely helpful, with copious amounts of information that allows you to ensure that the facilities you are implementing in your design- and the final product, will result in an accessible hotel for all.

We take for granted how easy it is to go on an overnight stay. Introducing a hoist into your hotel design can help ensure that everyone can do this, easily and effortlessly, without feeling like a nuisance.

Changing Places

The Changing Place Campaign is dedicated to enabling all individuals with disabilities to lead and enjoy their lives, with the same level of dignity that everyone else has.

The explanation of a Changing Place Toilet is as follows:

"People with profound and multiple learning disabilities, as well people with other physical disabilities such as spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis often need extra equipment and space to allow them to use the toilets safely and comfortably. These needs are met by Changing Places toilets. "

There are three of these toilets in Glasgow City Center: One at Glasgow Central Station, St Enochs Center and the SSE Hydro.
