Sensory Room
The sensory room at Robin House hosts a wide range of equipment for the children to use. The waterbed allows for an area of relaxation, with sensory lights filling the room and sensory objects hanging from the ceiling. Fiber optic lights and bubble tubes are also used, as these can be extremely calming and relaxing for both the children and adults. A new piece of technology that has recently been introduced is the projector mat. The projector mat has various different 'slides' that can be put on and interacted with. The individual can interact with the mat in multiple different ways as it triggers various senses.
From viewing the sensory space at Robin House, I have gained a greater understanding of the- what would be considered- necessary facilities that are required within a sensory space. I can implement this into my hotel design.
