The Families

The families at Robin House benefit from the hospice in many different ways. They can be visiting the centre for various reasons, but inevitably, each person is helped during their stay.

From speaking with some of the families during my visit, they made many great suggestions that could aid my design, as well as issues they face when visiting, or reasons that they do not visit hotels. Examples of these issues are; lack of manoeuvrability and space within the bedrooms and bathrooms, lack of storage and difficulties with heights of furniture e.g the height of a bed. These are all elements which I believe are easily fixed.

As well as raising issues, some solutions or paths towards solutions were created. An example of this would be the introduction and implementation of technology. This was discussed at great length and the benefits it would inflict on those visiting the hotel. The technology could be considered in all areas of the building.  Possible storage solutions and the great need for extra storage was also discussed.
