Over the past number of months, I have been researching and collecting information to help aid my design project. Universal design has to allow and accommodate a vast number of individuals, and therefore a great amount of research has to be completed before and during the design process. I have begun collating information on a document that allows for me to highlight different aspects of the hotel, and what factors I need to consider, for example, lighting, materials and acoustics.  

 

In reference to Elise Roys Ted Talk on designing for disability, I do truly believe that "When you design for disability, we all benefit". Gathering enough information to make my project successful is essential. It will almost certainly be extremely difficult to accommodate every individual's needs, wants and requirements; nonetheless, I definitely can try.
